A Christmas event will be taking place in Coatbridge at the end of next month, with the centrepiece set to be the switching on of the festive lights.
This event will be held in the centre of the town and will be the perfect way for families to get into the Christmas spirit. Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board has provided the financing, although North Lanarkshire Council also made a contribution. The event is set to run for most of the day and will include a range of different activities that are suitable for people of all ages.
These will kick off with festive arts and crafts at 11 am. Local people who attend the event will have the opportunity to design and make Christmas baubles that will be put up on the community tree.
Activities will then move up a gear in the afternoon, with Father Christmas welcoming people into his grotto. This will be a highlight for children, as they get to meet him and tell him their festive wishes. In addition, the grotto will feature stalls where people can play games and win prizes.
