An area in Viewpark is being altered by the construction of 16 council properties. These buildings are to stand where Tannochside Primary School was once situated. Meanwhile, 20 council houses will be built in a neighbourhood in Coltness. Bob Burrows, who serves on North Lanarkshire Council (NLC), said:
“I am very proud that we have been able to commit investment in new and improved housing while managing to keep rents well below the Scottish local authority average.”
Councillor Burrows added that he wants construction to take place on new sites. He underlined the importance of community, while stressing the value of affordable modern houses.
Robertson Partnership Homes Ltd (RPHL) is playing a pivotal role in the delivery of the housing projects. RPHL supports the local vision of creating sustainable communities via the provision of high quality homes. Brochure printers within Coatbridge are often used to promote housing projects on completion.
The Viewpark development involves the investment of £2.1 million. Cottage flats with different numbers of bedrooms are to feature on the site in question. Resources from the devolved government for Scotland have helped with some of the costs associated with development.
The Coltness project will use £2.7 million. Cottage flats and houses will be built at Walkerburn Drive, North Kilmeny Crescent and Innerleithen Drive. Accessibility, energy efficiency and security have informed the design of the homes.
