North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) has explained that Lomond Drive will not be ready for motorists before July 15.
NLC revealed that the work on Lomond Drive in North Lanarkshire will take about a month in total. The roadwork is happening at Wishaw and, if the maintenance continues for longer than anticipated, it may be necessary for the local authority to inform residents of local areas like Coatbridge via leaflets.
Scottish Water is in charge of the process of repairs, and is taking action because of problems with the sewerage in the area. As a consequence of the maintenance, motorists may have to endure delays. Nonetheless, pedestrian access is to be continued throughout the period of the road closure.
The specific stretch of road that is not open has been clarified by a statement that was submitted a few weeks ago. A spokesperson for NLC told the Daily Record:
“The roadworks are scheduled to be in place until July 15 and the work is to allow sewer repairs.”
A diversion is being used to address the needs of motorists while the work is being carried out. Drivers in one direction are being obliged to travel down Morar Street and Tarbert Avenue. Vehicles approaching Caledonian Road are going on their way by reversing. This is apparently inconvenient for drivers who have journeyed along London Drive, but may not be necessary after July 15.
