The car show was held at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial life, where over 150 vehicles were displayed on the day. It was the ninth time that the exhibition had been put on. Printing services within Coatbridge could be used to promote the show in 2018. The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) benefited from the day.
Joe Kelly organised the whole thing and he told the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser:
“It was a brilliant event. The weather was great, it was very busy and we had loads of different things on as well as the cars. We had pipe bands, stormtroopers, clowns, a tombola, raffles; there was a great turnout and it really was quite the day.”
Kelly pointed out that the cost of entering a car had only been £3. Nevertheless, he estimated that the final total of the money raised this year might be substantially more than £4,000. Furthermore, he revealed that over the years, the shows have accumulated about £35,000 for the charity.
According to Kelly, CHAS is always really pleased with the funds which come its way. Kelly is the owner of four classic cars and for him, the event is an ideal occasion for those who are enthusiastic about special vehicles. Lots of the cars are high in value, with many dating from the 1950s.
