An outdoor opportunity around Coatbridge is designed for ramblers to refresh their skills and learn some new ones.
Entitled “Walk Leadership Next Steps – Coatbridge”, the upcoming course will take place near town in Lochend. The course is suited to those who lead rambling walks around Scotland’s rural areas and is suited to a wide range of skill levels. Overall, it can help participants brush up on their practical skills, allowing them to manage more enjoyable and safe excursions.
It is particularly designed for walk leaders undertaking moderate or leisurely walks, but is also an access to more challenging rambles for those who lead easy access walks, or a refresher for those in charge of technical and strenuous walks.
Organisations running courses sometimes use professional brochure printing services to create bespoke and branded Booklets outlining training and educational opportunities.
The upcoming course will explore essential navigation skills like map reading and the “5Ds” of navigation. It will also cover what kit to bring along and how to cope with emergency situations. Skills will be taught entirely outdoors, in small groups of up to six people on flat lowland terrain.
The Ramblers Scotland course will begin at the Drumpellier Country Park Visitors Centre on Townhead Road in Coatbridge on May 7. The Whale Tail Sculpture is serving as a meeting point and the course will run from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
