Coatbridge is set to get a brand new residential development that will increase the amount of social housing available in town, after the council approved the scheme.
This development will consist of a total of 100 units, all of which will be social housing. The planning committee for North Lanarkshire Council gave it their unanimous approval at a meeting last month.
The actual style of the homes that will be constructed as part of it will be a mix of flats, cottage flats, bungalows and houses with two storeys.
The chosen location for the scheme is Dunottar Avenue, which lies within the Shawhead district of Coatbridge. Brochure printing from local shops can help housing developers showcase their latest homes when they are ready for occupation.
At the moment, there are a number of vacant buildings standing on this site. These were council houses at one point, but they will be knocked down to create space for the new scheme.
The Plans that were submitted to the council indicate that there will be two points of access for vehicles. One of them will be through Burleigh Place, while the other will be via Dunottar Avenue. There will also be 33 car parking spaces provided as part of it.
Although the scheme has been approved, a date for work on it to start is yet to be confirmed.Get a Free Quote for Plans
