Coatbridge dancer gets into national troupe

Amy Espie from Coatbridge has achieved entry into the National Youth Dance Company of Scotland.

The selection of Ms. Espie for the troupe followed her participation in Project Y. This initiative was run by a group called YDance. Only a dozen other dancers have been selected for the national organisation this year. Achievements like that of Ms. Espie can be recorded in professional newsletters and newsletter printing in Coatbridge is available. Ms. Espie told the Daily Record:

“Touring with the piece that the company creates will be an experience of a lifetime and one I’ll be giving my all to.”

She added that she welcomes the opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of contemporary dance than she has now. She also said that she was looking forward to the training.

The participants in the troupe will be involved in a Glaswegian production in the spring of 2016. The group will then show their talent on a national and international tour.

The dancers will have the chance to develop their skills with specialist assistance. A choreographer called Anna Kenrick is scheduled to put them through their paces.

Ms. Espie seems prepared to take up the challenge. She has been dancing since she was four years old. More recently, she has been honing her talent at a dance studio which is based in Glasgow Clyde College.
