KRG Engineering, which has its headquarters in Coatbridge, wants to invest £2m to acquire a market share in defence and energy. Printing services can be useful in the engineering sector, especially for ambitious projects.
The engineering firm aspires to boost its turnover by a fifth by 2026. It is not only targeting defence gas and oil, as it is hoping to diversify into renewable energy too. Spending resources on equipment and new technology should allow the business to broaden its offer.
Chief Executive Gerry Hughes told Insider.co.uk:
“This is the time to realise our potential and to do that, we want to reinvest into the untapped engineering talent we have in Scotland to solve safety and uptime challenges.”
Hughes explained that the organisation is going to accommodate all its capacities under a single roof. He stated that this strategy is intended to promote reliability and quality, and the approach should help to minimise costs.
John Houston has been recruited as a manager to work on renewable energy, aerospace and defence. Houston has many years of experience behind him.
At the moment, KRG Engineering employs over 90 people within Scotland. The organisation has been responsible for projects around the globe, with Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas among its areas of operation.
