Bridal shop in Coatbridge stages appeal

Coatbridge-based Crystal and Pearl Bridal is in the process of donating communion dresses to families that are suffering from deprivation.

The dresses involved in the scheme can be worth as much as $400. Entrepreneur Karen Welsh is searching for children who can make use of the dresses. Welsh said:

“I am trying to give back to the community by helping people who may not be able to afford items like this. A communion is a wonderful experience for young girls and they should look their very best for the occasion.”

Welsh is seeking to assist youngsters between the ages of seven and nine. To that end, she has launched a Facebook campaign. Flyer printing can be a great way to supplement online campaigns such as this. During the next few weeks, a search for four dress recipients will take place. Welsh commented that those who want a May communion will have to act prior to November 30th.

As a mother of two girls, Welsh is aware that not everyone is as fortunate as her family. She recognises that colourful memories are of importance to children. As a result, she has created the Making Dreams Come True concept.

The hope is that Making Dreams Come True evolves into a yearly event. This would enable several more struggling families to receive help.
