This opportunity for proud pooch owners to show off their pets has been given the name ‘Woofts’ and it is the brainchild of Joseph Holt Brewery. The inspiration for it comes from the ‘Crufts’ dog show, but it is intended as a light-hearted and quirky counterpoint to that event. All of the various ‘Woofts’ shows will be held in pubs across the country, and Prestwich’s Woodthorpe pub is set to be among them.
There will be several categories in the event, such as Best in Show, Best Dressed, Cutest Puppy, Handsomest Male and Prettiest Female. The expectation is that ‘Woofts’ will appeal to dedicated dog lovers, but also to general pub-goers who have a fondness for animals.
