Flats could be provided above bar in Prestwich

A number of brand new flats could be set for creation at a street in Prestwich, with the chosen site being above a popular bar and restaurant.

These Plans would see a total of five flats created directly above the Icons venue on New Bury Road. This bar and restaurant has become a hotspot for local music fans because it features live performances by bands at the weekends. If the Plans for the flats get the green light from Bury Council, it would not impact Icons in any way. The part of the building that has been proposed for them is lying empty at the moment.

The Plans show that three of the flats would be residential ones, with the remaining two being studio flats. The developer behind the proposal has sent a planning application to the council and is now awaiting a decision.

When local property developers have new homes for sale or rent, they sometimes make use of brochure printing outlets in Prestwich. That is because Brochures with colour photographs can help to showcase the homes.

According to the Bury Times, the planning application states that:
“The venue operates from Tuesday to Sunday, operating until 11pm on weekdays and Sundays, and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.”

At one time, the building was occupied by a snooker hall.

A decision will be made later this year.
