Feedback sought on Prestwich playground plans

Three playgrounds in Prestwich are set to be given makeovers and local people are being encouraged to offer feedback on the Plans.

The council intends to use money that comes from a government fund to carry out the upgrades. The playgrounds that will undergo improvement works are Fairways Play Area, Kersal Road Play Area and St Mary’s Park. These are deemed to be sites where the need is the most acute. However, the council wants residents to get involved in the process by sharing their thoughts about the plans.

In particular, the local authority wants to know what play equipment they think should be added to the sites. It is also keen to hear about any other changes that would enhance them though.

When public consultations are being carried out in the town, Prestwich Graphic Design Services can be useful. They can produce images that help people to see what potential developments would look like.

A total of £270,000 is to be spent on the playgrounds, but most of it will be allocated to St Mary’s. Speaking to the Bury Times, Alan Quinn from the council said:
“It’s great news for Prestwich because St Mary’s Park, especially during the summer, is really popular.”

Among the ideas that have already been proposed are the addition of floodlights to the tennis courts. Those courts are widely used by people throughout the borough.
