Dorchester to host literary festival

An epic festival honouring the literary arts will be taking place in Dorchester later this year.

Residents with a passion for reading and writing won’t want to miss an upcoming event taking place this autumn in the picturesque town of Dorchester. Organisers have announced that October will see the welcome return of the Dorchester Literary Festival, which is set to take place over the span of eight days. The event will pay tribute to iconic writers who found inspiration in the area, of which there is no small number.

Dorchester is famed for its impact on the works of writers like T. E. Lawrence, Thomas Hardy, William Barnes, Tracy Chevalier and Ian McEwan. The festival will also celebrate new literature from the UK’s most original authors, who are publishing impactful work today.

Dedicated to book lovers, the occasion will be packed full of activities, guest speakers and specialist vendors.
