Dorchester town centre could be set to get more housing, if an application to convert an existing building in the area is given the green light.
The building is on Trinity Street and the application wants to convert the second and the first floor into flats. The ground floor of the building was deployed for commercial purposes, and that business was using the upper two floors for storage and as a dining room. If the plan to turn them into accommodation is approved, it would represent the latest in a string of bids to create flats in the centre of Dorchester.
At one time, this building was occupied by Sam’s Steakhouse. However, this eatery closed its doors for good some time ago, and it is currently vacant. According to the application, the ground floor will be let out to a new commercial tenant.
When local property developers have new homes for sale or rent, they sometimes find brochure printing outlets in Dorchester to be useful. This is because they can provide Brochures that feature pictures of the homes.
Before Sam’s Steakhouse, the ground floor at 30 Trinity Street was home to Cow & Apple, which was a burger bar. The steakhouse was popular with residents, but shut down within 12 months in September of last year.
