This play is called Life Class, and it is centred on a drawing group. It is being described as a mix of drama and comedy, as four of the students at the class undergo a journey of personal discovery. The play is the creation of James Cuthill and Vince Jones, two writers who are based in the town. The venue that will be staging it is Dorchester Arts, which is situated in High Street East.
Local venues sometimes use poster printing supplied by Dorchester shops when they want to advertise their upcoming events. Posters are an effective promotional tool.
The four students at the class are called Mabel, Frankie, Christina and Veronica, while their art tutor is Julien Valentine. The actors who will portray these roles are Dee Thorne, Barbara Proctor, Laura Jane Parsons, Lynne Cockerill and Rod Lewis.
Jones spoke to the Dorset Echo about the play, stating that it was inspired by his own experiences in a life drawing class. He then added:
“The play isn’t all comedy, there are poignant moments and serious events in all their lives, and there isn’t a neat ending with everything tied up.”
Jones and Cuthill have collaborated several times before.
Life Class will be performed between 1 and 3 May.Get a Free Quote for Posters
