Dorchester will be paying tribute to its most famous son later this year, as an event devoted to Thomas Hardy will be taking place in the town.
The Thomas Hardy Festival and Conference attracts fans of English literature from all over the world. This year’s event will mark its 27th anniversary and a range of activities are planned for it. There will be prose and poetry workshops, panel sessions and lectures by guest speakers. While the event was originally created for those engaged in Hardy scholarship, it is open to anyone who enjoys the author’s work.
Hardy was born in the local area and became one of the major literary figures of the late 19th century. His most famous novels include Far From the Madding Crowd, The Mayor of Casterbridge and Tess of the d'Urbervilles. He was also a notable poet.
When the organisers of Dorchester events want to advertise them, one option is to use Posters. Dorchester is home to poster printing outlets that can help with that.
Alongside the more academic parts of the programme for this event, there will be interactive activities. These are set to include walks and coach trips to key locations that were featured in the work of Hardy. There will also be a quiz and live music during the evenings.
This event will be taking place between 25 July and 1 August at the Dorford Centre.Get a Free Quote for Posters
