The company behind them is RTI Estates Ltd. This firm is owned by Redtale Holdings, a property developer that has its base within Dorchester. The company has embarked on an ambitious project to regenerate the Barrack Quarter of the town and this planned conversion would be a part of that. The building involved is Vespasian House on Bridport Road.
If the project is given the green light, it would mean the office block being turned into a total of 37 flats. These would be a mix of three, two and one-bedroom dwellings, with the loft becoming penthouse flats.
The company expects the project to provide housing for 144 people and the total cost of it to be around £11 million. Housing developers sometimes use local Graphic Design Services to create designs outlining the look of their proposed developments.
Various NHS organisations use the building just now and Malcolm Curtis from RTI Estates Ltd told the Dorset Echo that:
“Vespasian House is a key brownfield site in a highly sustainable location in Dorchester town centre. We have been advised by the NHS that they are looking at alternative arrangements to co-locate with local partners.”
