Magician to perform show in Dorchester

A magician who has won awards for his live shows will be coming to Dorchester early next year, as one of the stops on a tour of the UK.

James Phelan is taking to the road with a brand new show that is called ‘The Man Who Was Magic’. This will follow on from his smash hit appearance at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

His latest live extravaganza will have a 1920s theme and will combine magic with narrative and comedy. Those who attend are being promised surprises, including a number of cameos by well-known faces.

Phelan has built a loyal fan following thanks to his unique style, which mixes amazing magic tricks with showmanship. His strong personality means he is able to connect with audiences, earning him comparisons with figures such as David Blaine and Joel Dommett.

He first made a name for himself with a show on BBC Radio, which included a notorious incident where he successfully forecast the results of the National Lottery. During 2024, he performed a sell-out solo residency at the famous Magic Circle club.

When venues in Dorchester want to promote their upcoming shows, flyer printing by local shops can be an efficient and cost-effective method.

The venue for this particular show will be Dorchester Arts and tickets for it have already gone on sale. It will take place on 31 January 2026.
