Light display to illuminate popular Dorchester gardens

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, the 18th century outdoor space and restaurant situated just outside Dorchester, will play host to a memorable light display this Christmas.

The garden, noted for its collection of rare plants, has been transformed into a winter wonderland for 2023’s festive season. Illuminate is an outdoor light display set to bring a different focus to the foliage at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens.

Presented by stage show specialists OT Event Technicians, the theme will show Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens in a new light, enchanting visitors with shades and profiles never seen before. The organiser compels visitors to:
“Journey through the heart of the Gardens on this year’s route and experience the rare plants and trees in spectacular colour, which highlights the Forms, shapes and textures. Experience the striking and eye-catching Illuminate alongside our Gift Shop, Plant Centre and Tea House.”

Family friendly events in counties such as Dorset are often promoted to the local community with flyer printing campaigns.

The ongoing display will run through until December 31 this year. There is a choice of time slots, with options of 4.30pm, 5.00pm and last entry at 6.45pm. Dogs are welcome on a short lead.

Ticket prices are £13.50 per adult and £8 per child. Diners at the nearby Kings Arms in Portesham will receive a 10% discount with their ticket.
