Groups in Dorchester get funding opportunity

Voluntary and community groups in Dorchester are being encouraged to put themselves forward for potential financing, courtesy of a fund that has now opened for applications.

The Dorchester Market Car Boot Fund is intended to support such groups throughout the local area. There will be a car boot sale held each week at the market and all of the proceeds from them will be put into the fund. Then this money will be divided up between those groups that have been successful with their applications.

They will be able to apply for grant funding ranging from £100 to £1,500. Among the organisations that could be eligible are ones that deal with mental and physical health problems, disability groups, youth clubs and sports clubs.

Those are the kinds of applications that were awarded grants from the fund in 2023. The chair of the judging panel for the fund, Councillor Molly Rennie, told the Dorset Council website that:

“We recognise the hard work that they do to make lives better for others. Thank you to those who hire pitches at the car boot sale in Dorchester.”

Top quality Logo Design from Dorchester shops is one way in which community and voluntary groups in the town can make themselves stand out. That can help them when it comes to landing funding.

The successful applicants will be chosen during November.
