Residents of Dorchester with a taste for exotic cuisine will have a new place to try out before too long, with the confirmation that a brand new Portuguese restaurant is opening in the town.
This restaurant will be situated within the dining quarter and it is set to be called Santos + Co. The exact location will be in Brewery Square, at 1 Dray Horse Yard. The unit chosen is lying empty at the moment, but it has been home to a number of restaurants in the past. They include Carluccio’s, Lucciano’s and the Merchant House.
The latter was the most recent occupant and was an independent eatery. It shut its doors for good late last summer, having only been in the premises for four months; the council will be delighted to have a new occupant.
Santos + Co is set to offer a menu that is based around traditional Portuguese cuisine. However, most of the ingredients will be sourced from providers in the Dorchester area.
When new restaurants first open in the town, flyer printing by Dorchester shops is one of the most popular options they have for advertising. These can be handed out to people on the street or placed in local venues.
This Portuguese eatery is being launched by two friends, and will be opening to the public during May Bank Holiday weekend.
