Dorchester to get new sports bar

Dorchester looks set to get a new addition to its nightlife offer, with the confirmation that the council has approved Plans for the opening of a sports bar.

This bar would be situated within Great Western House, which is not far from Dorchester West railway station. The unit that has been chosen is on the first floor of the building and was previously used for retail purposes. A man called Phil Campbell is behind the project and he applied to Dorchester Council for permission to change the use of the unit. That has now been granted, allowing the plans to move forward.

Campbell has a background in the hospitality sector, as he owns a local firm called D1 Bars and Leisure. He has indicated that the sports bar would be open between 11am and midnight. It would also create jobs, with positions being available for both full-time and part-time workers.

When a new bar or restaurant is opened in the town, the owners need to advertise it. Promotional Products supplied by Dorchester shops can be a good way to do that. They can be produced cheaply and given away.

According to the plans that were submitted to the council, the bar would feature five darts areas, three pool tables and three snooker tables. It would offer seating for roughly 40 people.

Local residents have expressed enthusiasm for the plans.
