The county town of Dorchester is set to celebrate Halloween in style.
With half term just around the corner, the local community has organised a series of events to celebrate the spooky season. Revellers are invited to dress up and get into the spirit of festivities, as they participate in the upcoming events planned for this spooky bonanza.
Local businesses will be running Halloween themed promotions to help the week-long celebrations go off with a bang. Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens are inviting residents of Dorchester and visitors of all ages to select pumpkins to carve out their own Jack-o-Lanterns. The Gardens will also be home to a Scarecrow Trail, with goody Bags on offer and maps available to purchase on the day.
Older fans of the supernatural will be able to test their mettle at a ghost hunting event in Dorchester Prison. Here, visitors will be able to explore the abandoned prison complex, investigate the old prison cells and try not let the shadowy figures and ghostly footsteps rattle them. Poster printing can help organisers to raise awareness of events like this.
Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens will be running their half-term activities from 21 to 29 October. Entry is free of charge, but visitors will need to pay £3.50 per pumpkin picked.
