Dorchester farm to host sunflower trail

One of the most popular events of the summer will be returning to Dorchester before too long, as a farm in the town gets ready to host its sunflower trail.

Maiden Castle Farm is noted for the spectacular fields of bright yellow sunflowers that bloom every year.

Taking a walk through these is a beloved part of summer for many residents of Dorchester, but it is also an important charity fundraiser. The first trail took place four years ago and the organisation that benefits from donations is Dorchester County Hospital – specifically its Special Baby Care Unit.

Farm owners Hazel and Richard Hoskin chose that as the cause because their own baby was treated at the unit after being born prematurely. The total raised for it since they launched the trails is close to £47,000, with the 2023 event bringing in £15,400.

Logo Design outlets in the area can help the organisers of events like this to come up with engaging and memorable branding for their advertising materials.

Speaking to the Dorset Echo, Hazel stated that:

“We’ll have to wait and see what the weather brings before we can provide the exact dates the sunflower trails will be open but keep an eye on our website so that you can book your tickets early as soon as they go on sale.”

The usual dates are July to August.
