Conversion planned for pub in Dorchester
A pub in Dorchester that has been closed for almost a decade could be set for conversion into a restaurant, if the plans are given the go ahead by the local council.
The building that used to house the Bull’s Head is on the High Street and it has been empty since the pub closed back in 2016. Now, an application has been submitted to turn it into a restaurant that would offer Indian and Nepalese food. The new owner has begun work on the process already, with the application that has been submitted being a retrospective one.
Mr C Kharel is the man behind it, and the proposed name of the restaurant is Everest Dorchester. He has put in an application to change the use of the building and states that this would restore its status as a social centre for the town.
When new eateries first open in Dorchester, they need to be advertised throughout the town. Themed promotional products that can be given away are one option for doing that.
According to the Dorset Echo, the planning agent involved in the project has stated that:
Supporting documents for the application indicate that it would create both full-time and part-time jobs.
