New retirement housing for Macclesfield

Macclesfield will welcome more retirement accommodation within the next couple of years.

Some affordable retirement homes are going to be constructed within the town because of a partnership between the not-for-profit organisation Anchor Housing and developer McCarthy & Stone. A variety of housing tenures is planned, with shared ownership one of the options. Brochure printing is useful in the housing sector, especially when a fresh development is on the way.

Anchor Housing’s chief executive, Jane Ashcroft, is clear that British society is ageing. This means that the demand for appropriate housing is on the up. Ashcroft said:

"We have ambitious Plans to provide more homes where people love living in later life and to do so more quickly.”

Ashcroft is eager to work in line with a national agenda, since the government has confirmed that independent living is a priority for the future. Macclesfield should see the new homes before 2022, with the units likely to be available at different prices.

The chief executive of McCarthy & Stone, John Tonkiss, wants to join up solutions for housing with the social care framework, and strives for his company to deliver plenty of choice for retired people.

Almost 500 units should be built in total, distributed among five sites. McCarthy & Stone has already secured the necessary planning permission for the scheme to go ahead.
