The play Accidental Death of An Anarchist, presented in association with Herne Books Limited, is due to have a run in Macclesfield in December.
Dario Fo and Franca Rame's theatrical classic was first written and produced in 1970 and received its premiere in Italy that same year. The plot concerns an anarchist who dies after falling from a window while in police detention. The question to be answered is was it an accident, or was it a crime? In response, an attempt is made by the police to prevent a scandal.
They arrest and detain a clever fraudster, who the audience know only as the 'Maniac', in order to question him. He then convinces the police officers to conduct a re-enactment of the death, thereby exposing the corruption inherent within the system.
This modern adaptation was produced by Tom Basden, which was first performed in 2022, and will now be performed in Macclesfield by the MADS Amateur Theatre Group. The play is a satire and should appeal to a broad spectrum of people.
Tickets will be available from the 10 November. Graphic design has an important contribution to make when it comes to the marketing of a theatrical event like this one.
Accidental Death of An Anarchist will run from Monday 1 December to Saturday 6 December at MADS Little Theatre in Macclesfield.Get a Free Quote for Books
