A band that rose to fame in the 1990s are set to play live at an outdoor artisan market held in Macclesfield.

Beloved band The Boo Radleys are playing a spring set in Macclesfield. The Wallasey three-piece are coming to town as part of a UK tour and bringing their latest material to a Cheshire East audience.

When bands tour, record companies and marketing teams sometimes order inexpensive Promotional Products bearing their likeness or logo to give away to fans and thank them for their support.

Founded in 1988, The Boo Radleys enjoyed success in the 90s as part of the Britpop and shoegazing movements. Featuring melodic vocal lines and jangly guitar strumming their songs are known for having youthful exuberance, humour and teen angst.

The show headed for Macclesfield will feature the original line-up which includes bandmates Simon Rowbottom on keyboards, vocals and guitar, Tim Brown on guitar, vocals, bass and keyboards and Rob Cieka on vocals and drums.

Those attending will get to hear songs from the 2026 album “In Spite of Everything” along with classic tracks from The Boo Radleys back catalogue which may include “Lazarus” and “Wake Up Boo!”.

The trio will now play live in concert at the Treacle Market on Saturday, May 23. The venue is located at Market Place in Macclesfield and the show starts at 5 pm.
