Acclaimed play to be performed at Macclesfield venue

The play Pramkicker, written by the award-winning playwright Sadie Hasler, is due to receive several performances in Macclesfield in mid-July.

It tells the story of a woman called Jude, who is certain that she doesn't want to have any children, while Susie, her sister, remains undecided about the idea. Jude is sitting in a café surrounded by mothers when she loses her temper, kicks a pram and is subsequently arrested by the police.

As punishment, she is sent for anger management training, where Susie joins her, and uses the occasion as a chance to reveal a deep secret. The play is an honest attempt to look at what it means to be a woman in the modern world.

This humorous, and at times emotional piece, had its premiere at the Brighton Fringe Festival, just prior to being critically lauded in 2015 at the Edinburgh International Festival. Sadie Hasler is a columnist, playwright and actor, not to mention the co-artistic director of the Old Trunk Theatre Company.

Tickets will be available for purchase from Monday, 15 June. Printing services can be a useful resource for those engaged in the promotion of a stage or theatrical event like this one.

Pramkicker will run concurrently on Friday, 10 and Saturday, 11 July at MADS Little Theatre in Macclesfield. Performance times range from 2:30 pm to 19:45 pm.
