Macclesfield set for a night of top comedy
A Macclesfield comedy club is gearing up for an evening of laughs this November with a double headliner bill.
The headline acts are Canadians Tony Law and Glen Wool, both of whom have built international reputations for their unique comic styles. The night will also feature supporting acts yet to be announced, while the ever-colourful Jonathan Mayor will take on MC (master of ceremony) duties.
Tony Law, originally from Alberta in Canada, has called London home since 1987. Recognised for his surreal storytelling and Viking-inspired look, his eclectic style and imaginative routines have earned him three Chortle Awards and a string of media credits. These include Have I Got News For You (BBC One), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), and Tony Law’s Surreal Guide to Surreal Comedy (BBC Radio 4 Extra).
Sharing the bill is Glen Wool, a Vancouver-born comic who began performing in 1995 before moving to London two years later. His subversive humour quickly won over UK audiences, and he has since taken his comedy around the globe. Television appearances include John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), and Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Two).
The show will take place at RedWillow in Macclesfield on Thursday, 13 November, starting at 8.00 pm. Tickets are £15.00 and are expected to sell quickly. Promotional products can be an effective way of advertising a future stage show or theatrical event like this one.
