A project that will see one of the campuses at Leicester College given a comprehensive revamp has moved forward, with work on the building now having started.
The Abbey Park campus of the college, which is located on Painter Street in the heart of Leicester, will have its interiors completely reworked and its facilities upgraded as a result of this scheme. This particular campus houses the technology and engineering centre, and the intention of the project is to provide those studying these subjects with access to the best possible equipment and environment.
It will cost £3 million to complete and will include the construction of a new laboratory for industrial control and robotics use. This will be used to teach those based at the campus about everything from manufacturing processes and programming to microcontrollers.
The project will also see a laboratory for hydraulics and pneumatics built, alongside a cutting-edge computing suite and extensive upgrading of the current laboratories. Around £1 million towards the cost of the work has been supplied by the Department for Education.
College campuses within the city like this one can turn to Leicester Stationery printers for all of the administrative materials that they need to function effectively.
Abbey Park students will be relocated to other parts of the college until the work is finished, which is scheduled to be during the autumn.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
