The licensing committee for Leicester City Council gave the organiser permission to go ahead after a meeting. This festival will run for three days and will see roughly 30 balloons taking to the sky each day. Around 100,000 people per day are expected to come to Leicester for the festival, so it will produce a lot of knock-on benefits for local businesses. This seems likely to have swayed the council.
There was some opposition expressed by people living in the area where it will be held, on health and safety grounds. However, organiser Showtime Events was able to guarantee that all of those piloting the balloons have decades of experience.
When it comes to advertising special events like this, themed Promotional Products can be a good way. These are cheap for Leicester Print shops to produce and can be handed out to people ahead of the event.
Showtime Events also compromised with residents by eliminating the planned fireworks. According to BBC News, its group director David Bailey said:
“I want people to be happy and come back here year on year. We want to bring this to your town and you to enjoy it.”
The festival will take place from 19 to 21 June at Victoria Park.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Print
