Riverside Festival is one of the most important annual events in the city. This year’s programme features the usual mix of live entertainment options, but there is a distinct focus on the local. Two of the artists who have already been confirmed to appear are Chantelle Marquez and Jake Thompson, both of whom hail from the Leicester area.
Thompson recently released his first single, which BBC Introducing chose as its ‘track of the week’. Marquez is a performer who has built a dedicated internet following and played at several other local events.
Poster printing by shops in Leicester is one of the options available to the organisers of events in the city, when they are looking to promote them.
This year’s Riverside Festival will see some changes, as the main stage is being set up in Bede Park. This will provide more space and allow the opening hours to be longer.
Vi Dempster from Leicester City Council told the local authority website:
“Riverside Festival is our largest free festival, drawing in thousands of visitors every year, so it’s the perfect platform for emerging local talent, and we look forward to revealing this year’s exciting line-up in full soon.”
The festival is held on 6th and 7th June.
