The Curve Theatre is due to host an open day on Saturday and the marketing team at the venue hopes to draw the crowds by distributing Flyers which explain what is happening as part of the event.
Many entertainment venues across the Midlands promote their events using leaflet and flyer printing and Leicester printing companies often get involved in the production of these promotional materials.
Leicester City Council states that anyone wishing to promote an event using leaflets or flyers should apply for its permission, as a way to minimise the risk of littering becoming an issue. One of the main reasons for the popularity of flyers is the fact that they can be taken home by potential show attendees.
The open day at the theatre also marks its fifth birthday and staff are hoping they can entice as many members of the public as possible to join in with the celebrations on the day.
Speaking about the plans, the Marketing officer for the Curve Theatre, Claire Ward, said:
"We feel that a hand-to-hand distribution campaign in the city centre on the day of the event would be an ideal way to entice new audiences into the theatre."
Leicester City Council is due to hold a meeting which will decide the fate of the leaflet promotions over the coming days.
