Leicester residents to enjoy winter festivities

A multicultural hub, Leicester City Council has ensured that there is something for everyone this winter season, as festivities are now in full swing.

Following this month’s Diwali Festival of Light, which illuminated the city from 9 – 14 November, Abbey Park’s ‘Enlightened at Christmas’ is now in motion, offering families a chance to take a stroll along an outdoor light trail in the heart of the city.

The trail will feature a specially curated route that will immerse visitors to the city and residents alike in a 50-metre tunnel of illumination. Tens of thousands of multicoloured lights make up the length of the trail that guests can follow, encountering holographic creatures along the way.

Organisations hosting events like this can utilise local Print shops for Posters, Flyers and other promotional materials that encourage visitors to seek out attractions in the area.

As well as the lights, there will also be a beautifully composed soundscape to compliment the scenery, along with dancing, colour-changing water fountains that can be found in the heart of the woods.

The event began on the 16 of this month, and runs throughout December, up until Christmas Eve.

Tickets for the 'Enlightened' Abbey Park walk must be booked in advance, and cost from £12.50 per person. Tickets are £9 tickets for children between the ages of 3 - 16, and there is no cost for infants to attend.
