Those eateries in the local area that have made the final cut for this year’s Leicestershire Curry Awards have now been made public, with 42 outlets reaching this stage of the proceedings.
This annual event was previously called the Leicester Curry Awards, but the decision was made to rename it this year so that more venues could enter. Takeaways and restaurants from both Leicester itself and the wider county put themselves forward for it, but now the 2023 entrants have been narrowed down to 42 finalists. These are split across a total of eight different categories.
The two most coveted awards are Restaurant of the Year and Takeaway of the Year. Among the finalists in the first of them are Indian Fusion, Dine India, Mumbai Inn and Silchar Indian Dining. Finalists in the latter include Bombay Bites, Hot Potato Shop, Anika Balti Express and Papadoms.
Some other categories featured in the awards are Best Vegetarian Restaurant, Best Street Food and Best Pub Restaurant. The organisers have also added a brand new category, Best Catering, for the 2023 awards.
