Homestand concert to return to Moose Jaw

Long an end-of-summer tradition, the Homestand concert and festival will return to Moose Jaw this September featuring a varied group of artists.

This year’s musical lineup is headlined by all-star Canadian rock group Toque. The chief supporting artist will be Saskatchewan-based rock group Streetheart, who are known for ‘80s hits like “What Kind of Love Is This” and their cover of “Under My Thumb” by the Rolling Stones. Supporting acts include Juno-nominated folk-rock trio Elliott Brood, children’s entertainer Fred Penner, and rock-reggae group The Steadies.

This will be the fifth year of Homestand, which is known for transforming the Ross Wells Ballpark into Moose Jaw’s largest music venue. It is hosted by River Street Promotions, a non-profit organization that aims to promote wellness through entertainment. Local promoters like this often use tools such as flyer printing and radio advertising to help connect with local fans.

Proceeds from the event will go towards local youth well-being initiatives and beautification efforts around the city. The organization has raised over $500,000, with past editions of Homestand being major contributors. They describe their mission as connecting:

“…audiences with inspired entertainers while raising funds to promote youth mental wellness and education in Southern Saskatchewan.”

Homestand 2025 will take place at the Ross Wells Ballpark in Moose Jaw on Saturday, September 6. Children 12 and under can attend free with an accompanying ticketholder.
