Walk to explore urban park through history

The public has been invited to be a part of an event that will offer insight into the past, present and future of Downsview Park.

The large urban park offers a chance to experience the great outdoors right in the heart of Toronto. Originally home to Canadian Forces Base Downsview, it is now a huge green space.

The park’s staff and volunteers will be offering a guided exploration of the park, as well as the plants and animals that call it home. It covers an area of 291 acres, and the participants will learn about its environmental stewardship and urban agriculture programming.

Those who register for the tour are asked to be at 70 Canuck Avenue so they can meet up before the walk begins at 1:30 pm. While there is no admission fee, donations will be most welcome, and the suggested amount is $10 each. The organizers noted that, while they strive to ensure accessibility for all, the tour will be going over some rough terrain, and because of construction, accessibility may be somewhat limited.

The participants in an event like this often want to learn as much as they can. A brochure printing company can offer guide Booklets that can be given to each of the registrants, which can help them to keep on making discoveries about the park even after the function is over.

This chance to get an insider's view of Downsview Park will be offered on October 5. Since only a limited amount of spaces are available, anyone who is interested is advised to reserve their spot well ahead of time.
