A festival near Downsview will aim to celebrate all varieties of tea, providing a tasting journey around the world.
The Toronto Tea Festival will allow for visitors to sample and purchase tea from a variety of vendors from across Canada and beyond. Confirmed vendors include Arvinda’s Spices & Chai, Number E Small Batch Tea, and Hokusan Japanese Green Tea, suggesting the cultural diversity on display. There will also be a number of cultural presentations, including a Japanese tea ceremony presented by Momo Tea owner Momo Yoshida and a Chinese ceremony from award-winning tea sommelier Sabrina Chen.
Attendees can learn more about brewing and enjoying tea, as well as the drink’s unique history, through a variety of speakers, including Tea and Herbal Association of Canada President Shabnam Weber, British taster Kevin Gascoyne, and Hokusan Tea Canada founder Rikko Osaki.
This is the 10th anniversary edition of the festival, and to commemorate the occasion, the festival will be giving out an extra-large gift tote bag to attendees. Events like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help reach food and drink enthusiasts from nearby neighbourhoods like Downsview and North York.
The 2025 Toronto Tea Festival will be held at the Toronto Reference Library on February 1 and 2. Tickets are available for single days as well as the whole weekend.
