As the 2014-2015 educational year gets underway in Brampton, a number of new schools are set to open their doors to the area’s youngsters for the first time.
Three additional schools have launched in the Peel Region. In Brampton, the Walnutgrove Public School and Nelson Mandela School are now ready to accept students, while in Mississauga, Chris Hadfield School is ready for the business of providing an education. Due to construction delays, Nelson Mandela opened for classes one day later than expected.
Countryside Village Public School will share space with Jim Grieve School, as they are awaiting government funding for a new building that is expected be announced for the year 2016.
Further, Ross Drive Public School is scheduled to commence classes in October.
This year also marks the first year that all schools in the province of Ontario must offer full-day kindergarten to their families. This means that spaces will be made available for 20,000 pupils in 207 elementary schools throughout the Peel District.
The district currently has 244 elementary and secondary schools and sees an annual enrolment of approximately 154,000 students from kindergarten to high school.
The first day back can be an exciting time for the children. A banner printing company can create a colourful banner to welcome them back and help them to get their year started off on just the right foot.
