Hockey fundraiser to score in Brampton

After a landmark edition last year, Hockey Night in Brampton will return this August, looking to raise money for local charity.

The charity event features an exhibition hockey game starring past, present and future stars of Canadian hockey, including players from the NHL and PWHL. Last year’s game featured a sold-out arena to see a game captained by Toronto Maple Leafs players Auston Matthews and Chris Tanev. This year’s event will look to feature a similar lineup of players and coaches from the Maple Leafs, Toronto Sceptres, Team Canada and more.

Funds raised through ticket sales will go towards the William Osler Health System, building community health care in the Brampton area. The foundation is currently looking to raise money to build a second hospital in Brampton. Last year’s game raised $6.7 million, in addition to securing a $50 million pledge from the Cortelucci family.

This will be the fifth year of Hockey Night in Brampton, which has grown each year and advertises itself as the biggest charity hockey game in Canada. Fundraising events like this often use flyer printing and local media advertising to help attract spectators and donors. The game is also part of Brampton’s “Summer in the City” event programme.

The 2026 Hockey Night in Brampton game will take place on August 19 at the CAA Centre.
