Childrens first aid course to be held in Brampton

With children, accidents can happen anywhere at any time, and an upcoming course in Brampton will ensure parents will be prepared to act in an emergency.

Kids Fist Aid will equip parents, grandparents, and caregivers with skills they can use to respond to commonplace emergency situations. It is facilitated by fully trained and experienced paramedics, and is geared exclusively to helping children. The workshop will take approximately three hours to complete, and will address situations such what to do if a child has ingested poison, received a burn, is choking, is bleeding, needs CPR, has hypothermia or frostbite, is having a seizure and many other situations that require first aid or other emergency measures.

According to Kids First Aid, which is the group that has organized the training event, the skills taught can ensure that the attendees can provide any immediate help and support necessary until paramedics or other first responders arrive. The cost to take part starts at $65 per person, and discount packages for two parents, parents and grandparents and groups of six or more are available. A company that performs binding services can produce manuals and other materials for those who take part.

The training session will be held on December 10 at the Best Western Plus in Brampton. Tickets and further details are available here.
