Brampton leading the way in hi-tech innovation
A new facility has opened in Brampton that will allow many different community stakeholders to come together to learn about, and access, the latest in manufacturing technology.
The new MakerSpace Creative Hub has opened at the Four Corners branch of the Brampton Library. This new innovation centre is the result of a partnership between the Sheridan College CAMDT, the Brampton Library and the City of Brampton Economic Office.
What the new space will offer to students, residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors alike is a place where they can come together and collaborate on projects, share knowledge, and have access to the latest in 3D printing, 3D modeling , architectural design, and robotics. This will help to keep the city on the cutting edge of innovation, and give students a head start in their future careers in design and manufacturing.
According to Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters’ director of policy, this is an example of how Sheridan College is at the forefront of technological innovation in Ontario. The organization also notes that it is pleased to be partnering with the college through the ‘Canada Makes’ program.
An opportunity like this, where locals can gain access to technology that they might otherwise not be able to, can bring great benefits to a community. A print company can prepare promotional items that can help to spread the word about the new venture, what it does, and how it can help the city to grow and prosper.
