An activity that may be of interest to home gardeners and those who plan community plantings is in the works, and both Nature Manitoba members and the general public are encouraged to participate.
The Earl Grey Community Club in Winnipeg will be the location for the ‘Albrin Park’ session, which will share lessons learned by Stu and Debbie Innes when they established and managed plantings at Albrin Park. It will explore the topic from both a horticulture and community engagement perspective.
The group will discuss subjects that range from plant selection to pest control, fertilization and other cultural concerns. They will find different ways of building community involvement and crafting public stakeholders, and everyone will receive details about some of Albrin Park’s latest instalments, such as its tall grass prairie that showcases native species, and its shade and naturalized tree areas.
Attending a workshop like this can be a fun, educational experience. Learning materials for this type of workshop can be ordered from a brochure printing company, which will be able to supply custom products at an assortment of price points.
This evening of exploring lessons learned during the installation and maintenance of plantings at Albrin Park will run from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm on April 3rd. The venue for the presentation can be found at 360 Cockburn Street North.
