Winnipeg swoops in for owl exhibit

Residents of Winnipeg who give a hoot about birds will be treated to a special learning experience at a local venue thatoffers a sneak peek into the natural world.

The Living Prairie Museum provides an assortment of workshops and classes, and it's Exploring Owls event will be an introduction to the species that can be found in the province. Families can drop by for some hands-on fun, and it will be open for five hours.

When they visit the exhibit, the patrons will be invited to listen to different owl calls and find out what they mean. There will be an opportunity to learn about owl pellets and how and why they are made, and also how their feather structure can make them silent nighttime hunters. They can measure themselves against owls’ wingspans, and all of this is on offer free of charge. It will open at 11:00 am, and will welcome visitors until 4:00 pm.

Museums, outdoor centres, and other venues that operate on a not-for-profit basis may require printing services that are very budget-friendly. Stationary printers can provide a range of options for everything from signage to annual reports.

This introduction to some of Manitoba's birds of prey will swoop in to the Living Prairie Museum on April 18th. It can be found at 2795 Ness Avenue.
