Winnipeg markets seeks local vendors
Whether they hail from Winnipeg or another part of the country, crafters and makers of all kinds are invited to explore a sales opportunity that has a list of dates throughout the spring and summer season.
While the Summer of Locals initiative was originally designed to make it easy for the public to support local businesses, it has expanded to welcome sellers from across Canada. There are five weekends scheduled this year, and admission to the public will be free.
The organizers are interested in hearing from makers and other vendors, and they must be a registered Canadian business. As some of the spaces will be outdoors, those who reserve a spot will need to provide weighted backdrops and other ways of securing their decor. Tents are welcome in case of rain, and each space will be 13 feet by 13 feet. The vendors are encouraged to be as creative as they can when setting up their sales area, and while overnight security will be provided, the organizers will not be responsible for items left overnight.
Businesses that take advantage of pop-up sales events often choose to have business cards prepared in advance. This way, they will be ready to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.
At the time of writing, The Summer of Locals is still accepting vendor bookings. More details about can be found on The Locals Collective website. Each market will be held at the Outlet Collection in Winnipeg.
