Winnipeg trade shows have new owner

A buyer has been found for two annual Winnipeg home shows.

The expos, which were previously owned by the not for profit group Manitoba Home Builders’ Association ( MHBA) which has a membership of over 300, was acquired by Marketplace Events.

The shows include the Kitchen, Bath and Renovation Show, and also the Home Expressions Home and Garden Show, both of which take place in the RBC Convention Centre.

According to the CEO of Marketplace events, Tom Baugh, his company has been impressed with the potential these shows have, as well as the leadership provided by the homebuilders’ association. He added that, when combined with the recent expansion of the RBC Centre and the popularity of this type of trade show, purchasing them was a smart acquisition. Banner printing firms can produce a variety of materials that are ideally suited to a trade show, ranging from Signs and decorations to informational packages and promotional items that can be give out to the public.

For his part, Mike Moore, who is the president of the MHBA, said that his group has taken great pride in staging these expos for the many years that they have taken place, and he looks forward to their continued growth and improvement in future years.

Marketplace Events produces 42 different shows a year in 21 markets. Anyone who is interested in learning more can visit their website at www.marketplaceevents.com.
