What's Happening in Winnipeg, MB…

Winnipeg to walk for wildlife

The team at the Prairies Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre offers animals in need to some love and care the opportunity to rest, recuperate and get ready to head back to their typical habitat, and Winnipeg residents have been asked to take to the trails at a local park in support of its work.

On Saturday morning in early September, registrants will lace up their sneakers for the 8th annual Walk for Wildlife Fundraiser. The monies collected will remain in the local area, helping sick and injured animals get the care they need.

Those who would like to get involved can choose to walk or run, and both 5km and 10km options are available. While advance registration will be appreciated, the function will be able to accommodate walk ups, and once they have computed the route, the participants will be treated to a hearty pancake breakfast, courtesy of Smitty’s. All ages are welcome, and it can be a fun way for families to get active while they enjoy the satisfaction that can go hand in hand with environmental stewardship.

A fundraising activity may garner a lot of attention from the public and this can be key to its success. A poster printing company will be able to help build interest in an activity like this.

The 8th annual Walk for Wildlife will be taking to St. Vital Park on September 10th. It will hit the road at 9:00 am.
