Winnipeg ride to help keep dads on the road

A Winnipeg fundraiser will put prostate cancer in the spotlight as it aims to raise funds to help find a cure.

The annual Telus Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad is on the horizon, and the proceeds from the day will benefit those living in Manitoba. It has been rescheduled from its original spring date, and a public awareness campaign about the activity will kick off during the summer months.

On the day of the fundraiser, participants will meet up at Earls Kitchen and Bar, and the kickstands will be going up at 10am sharp. Everyone who takes part is asked to collect pledges, and there will be prizes awarded and lunch served. Even if someone can’t participate in person, donations will still be welcome, and to date, the Telus Ride for Dad campaign has raised over $33 million for prostate cancer research and support.

The organizers explained that one of their goals is to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection. Healthcare professionals can sometimes turn to local printing services to help in awareness campaigns. Informational publications about a topic can be crafted and for fundraisers such as this, Banners and signage can also be prepared.

Whether they live to ride or just enjoy touring local roads on two wheels, all motorcycle enthusiasts are encouraged to take apart in this activity. It will be taking place on October 3rd.
