Many millions of years ago, dinosaurs once roamed the land now occupied by the modern city of Winnipeg, and this summer, they will be returning – if only for a short time.
Dinosaurs Alive! will soon be arriving in the community, and it will feature 16 animatronic versions of these ancient creatures. The models have been made to be as lifelike as possible, and they all move. The display will be more than visual, with it including recordings of the sounds that it is believed these ancient creatures might have made. They will be placed in a setting that will replicate the era when they walked the earth, and adults and kids alike will have a chance to visit simulated excavation and dig sites so they can have a taste of what it is like to be a paleontologist.
The exhibit will be open to the public, and all ages are welcome to come and join in the excitement. One of the reptiles that will be featured will be the Tylosaurus, which once swam in the shallow waters that once covered he area where the city of Winnipeg now stands. Signs and other printed materials for an exhibit such as this can be supplied by an area Print company.
Dinosaurs Alive! Will be at the Assiniboine Park Zoo until October 9, and the ticket price is included in the zoo admission. More information can be found on the Assiniboine Park website.
